"Musgrave Park Hospital Mural"
The days are getting more easier as I adjust to the time difference from back home. I'm a little groggy in the mornings, but I do quick deep breaths to clear my mind of everything except happy thoughts for today's program activities. Painting ceramics was always a strong passion of mine and the thought of painting a real life mural at the Musgrave Park Hospital in honor of the patients with mental dementia.
Cheryl Bleakely was the artist we got to work with today there. Cheryl was very warm and encouraging, and helpful as she assisted us in making the mural come to life with each of our very own creative touch. I opted in painting a butter-cup flower and set of too painting. Like the day before, I found myself entrapped in my own little world. Time was forgotten and the only thing I focused on was my breathing and the light stroke of my hand against the canvas. Finding my inner rhythm was very magical and I could not help but smile as I worked hard to create something the residents at the trauma living facility might enjoy. It warmed my heart with complete excitement and my work turned out even more beautiful than I expected. In the next few weeks, the mural would be installed on the property.
